ArcGIS Local Government Solutions Showcase- Winter 2018 (Morton, IL)

Just before Christmas we enjoyed another local government showcase event in our hometown area in Morton, IL. Another great turn out, we sent attendees home with a wealth of GIS information, some giftcards, putting lessons, and an opportunity to pick up some last minute Christmas gifts as they headed out for their holiday weekend a bit early on this cold Friday afternoon. Here wer the key topics covered at this event.

Workforce for ArcGIS:  Create your own work order solution

What every City should know about solar power

Save Hours of time Editing data:  Most popular tools in ArcGIS Pro

Overcoming your GIS fears: How CAD users can make the switch to GIS

Three ArcGIS solutions that will disrupt your routine

One of this year’s highlights for the Morton showcase was the return of former Cloudpoint staff member Joe Christian. Joe was known for his emcee skills at the past showcases where he was able to keep the crowd engaged with random contests and giveaways. It was a special treat to have him back to talk about how his company is integrating solar options for municipalities to help save money by offsetting utility costs. ArcGIS Local Government Solutions Showcase- Summer 2016 (Rockford, IL)

Jon Hodel provides a recap of the ArcGIS for Local Governments Solutions Showcase held in Rockford, IL on June 17, 2016.

Whether you came for the learning or the amazing food, this showcase was an excellent example of how we really 'cater' to the audience's needs.  Half way through the program we juggled the agenda as the attendees wished to hear a bit more about the parcel fabric.  We want these events to be all about you learning how the latest GIS solutions can directly impact your line of work.

Then in the afternoon we expanded on ArcGIS GeoEvent Extension for Server which connects with virtually any type of streaming data feed and transform your GIS applications into frontline decision applications.  Tim Hensley, with esri, was able to show how location-based events in the field can trigger instant email alerts to the users in the office to help facilitate workflows.   Best part is, you don't have to be a skilled developer to make this work as its all configurable through the extension.

We are planning to host a series of these events at various locations so chances are you will have an opportunity in the near future to join us.  These events are designed for local government officials and department heads and are totally free.
