Have you seen our Highway Management Portal? We’ve done three webinars and covered Permitting, Asset Management, and finally, Construction Projects and Road Project Cost Estimator.
Our hope with this series was to show you how Highway Departments can leverage all ArcGIS Online has to offer and simplify some of the workflows that you handle daily. The Construction Projects portion of the portal allows you to track current and future projects, monitor the status of each, and share some of that information with the public.
I love Excel as much as the next engineer, but I get really excited when we can convert some of those workflows and connect them directly to GIS. This estimator leverages the front-end simplicity and back-end functionality of Survey123 to pull data from existing features, ask users a few questions, and produce an estimate in real time. This can later be turned into an active project, which will be seen in the Construction Projects dashboard.
