Keeping Up With Cloudpoint

This year’s Esri User Conference in sunny San Diego was a smashing success. While Jon goes for at least a few days every year to check in with the Esri bigwigs, and get some education himself (specifically Indoors), others in the office rotate around attendance at this ultimate gathering of GIS geniuses.
The Cloudpoint experts love to share their knowledge with the community via our Local Government Solutions Showcases. Our showcases are free, one-day training events for local government officials of all makes and models: Public Works Directors, City Engineers, City Planners, Utilities Directors, GIS Coordinators, and on and on.

After a bit of a hiatus from showcase events, Cloudpoint was excited to be back with a great group of people for a showcase at Town Hall in Zionsville, Indiana on December 8th. The day started with delicious coffee and donuts, as well as a bit of time for everyone to get acquainted. Jonathan Hodel and Virginia VanderVeen from Cloudpoint as well as representatives from Esri all took turns presenting on various ArcGIS topics. Some of those included:
Cloudpoint will celebrate 11 years in business on August 25, 2022. For our anniversary, we were able to bring our remote employees to home base so that all of the Cloudpoint employees could enjoy a full day of fun activities together. The day started at the office with a light breakfast of cinnamon & caramel rolls and a fun icebreaker game. We took updated “all staff” photos and did our company cheer for the first time in-person (let’s just say the timing was much better than doing it virtually).
Another WATERCON has come and passed, but what a show it was! Bill, Jon, Matt and even Sahara put in time at the booth during the show, and it was a good thing all of us were there, as the attendance was fantastic. Billing themselves as one of the premier conferences relating to water and waster water systems in the Midwest, the number of attendees, educational sessions, and vendors proved it.
It all started on chilly Wednesday morning. Cloudpoint packed up the van and headed towards Elkhart Lake WI and the WLIA 2022 Annual Conference. On the way, however, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to do some business. After a quick lunch, Hunter and Erin met with the public works department of the city of Zion IL.
