Mapping the Future of GeoAI: Welcoming Lokendra Bethu to the Team

We are excited to share that Lokendra "Loki" Bethu is transitioning from his summer role as a Computer Science Intern into a full-time position as our AI Automation Specialist & GIS Developer. During his internship this summer, Loki quickly proved himself an asset to our team, bringing curiosity, technical creativity, and the drive to build smart solutions. Now, we're excited to keep that momentum going as he steps into this expanded role.

Loki brings a strong academic and entrepreneurial background to our team. He holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Engineering and a Master’s in Computer Science with a Minor in Data Analytics. Prior to joining Cloudpoint, Loki served as Operations Coordinator at the University of Illinois Springfield and co-founded NeuroCortex. His passion for emerging tech started early. Loki published his first research paper at an international conference at 19 and successfully founded, built, and sold a company early in his career. In the realm of GeoAI, Loki has already spearheaded impressive projects, including developing a machine-learning lightning prediction model using satellite and atmospheric data that achieved roughly 75% accuracy.

What sets Loki apart is his vision for leveraging technology for a greater purpose. Beyond his technical accomplishments, he co-runs a small NGO dedicated to serving local communities and giving back. Whether he is experimenting with new machine learning algorithms or exploring novel approaches to spatial automation, Loki approaches every challenge with a unique perspective and an ambition to pioneer meaningful advances in AI and GeoAI.

Outside of work, Loki’s mind never stops exploring. You might find him traveling in search of beautiful beaches, learning about art, or having long conversations about space, black holes, wormholes, AI, and emerging technology. He also enjoys swimming, playing golf, horseback riding, and spending quality time with his family, including his twin sister, who is a doctor.
