New Year, New (ish) Faces

We're starting off the year welcoming two new employees to the team! Seth Stark is joining us as Local Government Team Lead for the Eastern US. Those in the Illinois GIS Community will recognize Seth! Having previously served the City of Decatur for over 13 years and the City of Garden Grove, California, for 5 years, he is not new to the GIS scene. We are excited to have his breadth of local government experience and knowledge to support our clients. A few fun facts about Seth include:

• He loves traveling and has been to 4 of the 7 continents (and hopes to visit all 7 eventually)

• He loves reading history and mystery novels and playing board games

• He and his wife, Yocelyng, have been married for 22 years and have 4 children (Isabella, Adam, Esperanza, and Jane Grey)

We are also excited to welcome Jon Brunton to Cloudpoint. Jon started as a temporary technician just after Thanksgiving, and we're excited to have him move to full-time as a GIS Technician. Jon is a graduate of Purdue University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Planetary Sciences, and Imperial College London, where he earned a Master of Science in Environmental Data Science and Machine Learning. Jon is a Metamora native. A few fun facts about Jon include:

• He has been to 29 National Parks, with Zion being his favorite.

• His background in planetary sciences means he has plenty of fun facts about our solar system and will always be one of Pluto's biggest defenders.

• He played football, basketball, and baseball in high school and enjoyed being the division champion with the Imperial College London American Football club, though he is now retired from sports aside from recreational basketball and softball leagues.

• He loves disc golf and fishing

• He is a huge fan of Purdue athletics, and will plan his schedule around their football and basketball games (Boiler Up!)

  
  

Jon has been an active Esri user and student since before joining Cloudpoint, and enjoys working on personal Python programming projects in his free time.
