Showing off GIS in the Show-Me State

Daniel and I made it back earlier this week from presenting and exhibiting at the Missouri Public Safety Communications Conference (MPSCC) in Branson, MO. As the push for Next Generation 9-1-1 services throughout the United Sates continues, Missouri sits primed and ready for help with their GIS data. While our travel was lengthy, the gratitude and interested received at both the booth and Daniel’s presentation made it all worth while.

What a great conference! What a great group! The dedication and thoughtfulness of this group of Public Safety Communicators is inspiring. We look forward to assisting them in making response times faster and call locations more accurate.

The opening Sunday night festivities of a wonderful dinner, drinks, music video bingo, and some very interesting karaoke got everyone in the proper mood to kick off the conference on Monday. And on Monday, once the exhibit hall was officially open, the whirlwind began. We did our best to keep up with the crowd: shaking hands, exchanging business cards, passing out whitepages, and talking all things GIS/NG9-1-1. After a full day, we’re not ashamed to say that after dinner an early bedtime and good, hard sleep were just what was needed.

The half day Tuesday wrapped up with exhibiting, drawing our raffle winner, and making a last few contacts and notes for next year. All-in-all, we had a wonderful (first!) time at MPSCC and look forward to working with PSAPs across the state to get their NG9-1-1 data in order for years to come. See you next year!
